Due to some money issues, I wasn’t able to get quite everything that I wanted at the comic shop today. Homework has rendered me unable to read all of them yet, but TMNT is probably the stand out so far. Spaceman is interesting, but I really need a second issue to come out; the pacing in the debut was a little too quick for my liking. But Brian Azzarello hasn’t steered me wrong yet!

New comics (and some back issues since they were on sale) this week! There weren’t any DC books that were on my list this week, which is kind of a bummer since I’m mostly a DC fan. But I don’t read only DC books, so it’s nice to give them a break for a week and focus on the other books I read. A couple points for each comic:
1. If you like superhero comics and are not reading Daredevil by Mark Waid, you are doing a great injustice to yourself. It’s wonderful. Also, look at that cover! How awesome is that?!
2. Moon Knight #7 came out last week, but I missed it. I haven’t gotten a chance to read it yet, but if it’s anything like the last 6 issues, it’s going to be great. He’s not a character that a lot of people know off the top of their heads, but Moon Knight is one of my favorite Marvel characters.
3. I picked up Robin #69 since it’s part of the “No Man’s Land” storyline. I’m trying to collect that entire story, and it’s quite the chore. It covered about 100 issues in total, and, with this being added to my total, I’ve now got about 64 to go.
4. Spaceman by Brian Azzarello and Eduardo Risso is interesting to say the least. It’s a little difficult to read because of the way the title character speaks, but Azzarello and Risso have never let me down before. I’m sure as this title is explored more, it’ll end up being just as good as anything that creative team has released in the past.
5. Spawn #208 somehow slipped past me, and I noticed it was missing from my collection while archiving my comics a few weeks ago. I’m not even sure how I managed to not get it. I’m trying to get a full run of the main Spawn title, and I’ve been working on that for about 3 years now.
6. The new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles ongoing series is so awesome. It invokes the first movie and the cartoon series while still remaining true to the original comic’s roots. If you’ve ever been a fan of the Turtles, read this at some point.
