It’s Wednesday! You know what that means!
I haven’t gotten the chance to read all of these, but I can say that Batman and TMNT are awesome. Nightwing is pretty good. It sets up a new arc pretty well. Red Hood is actually surprisingly good. I didn’t expect much from it, but I enjoyed it. Unfortunately, I left my comics at work tonight, so I won’t get to read any until tomorrow.
Things I do when I can’t sleep.
Due to some money issues, I wasn’t able to get quite everything that I wanted at the comic shop today. Homework has rendered me unable to read all of them yet, but TMNT is probably the stand out so far. Spaceman is interesting, but I really need a second issue to come out; the pacing in the debut was a little too quick for my liking. But Brian Azzarello hasn’t steered me wrong yet!
New comics (and some back issues since they were on sale) this week! There weren’t any DC books that were on my list this week, which is kind of a bummer since I’m mostly a DC fan. But I don’t read only DC books, so it’s nice to give them a break for a week and focus on the other books I read. A couple points for each comic:
I forgot to throw these up last week, and it’ll be new comics Wednesday when I wake up. So I wanted to updated with the past 2 weeks’ worth since I’d fallen behind.
It was announced today that Michael Bay’s new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film will be altering the turtles’ origin, making the four brothers aliens instead of mutated pets. The reason? It’s more believable.
It looks like Bay is giving TMNT the same treatment as Godzilla, which involves gathering all the information about the characters, compiling it into a large list, and disregarding all of it until the franchise owner has to negate the Michael Bay film in a future installment (See “Godzilla, Mothra, and King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack” for Toho’s response to Bay’s Godzilla monster).
There’s no stoppin’ the cretins from hoppin’
I got this for $2. Yes.
